Golf is a game of details. The smallest details separate a good shot from a great one… the list goes on and on. If you haven’t heard me say it before, I’ll say it again – and as much as I don’t like it, I happen to agree with Deion Sanders on one thing: “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good.”
I believe there is a certain respect we must show while on the course because many of the courses we have the privilege of playing are cathedrals in nature. The way we look and carry ourselves is a direct reflection of how we see ourselves, and it seems, it’s more than okay to show pride.
I watch a lot of golf. Seriously, there isn’t a tournament I won’t watch. And while I’m constantly looking for ways to improve my game, as I marvel at the sheer talent each tournament player possesses, I’m also looking to see who the best dressed are. While most of the tournament’s style icons didn’t win very often (or at all) this year, they certainly had memorable moments, close calls and, of course, some great matches.
Justin Thomas
JT is a boy whose screenplay by Greyson continues to impress me. There really isn’t a round where he doesn’t look sharp. I remember watching this year’s Players Championship and as soon as I saw his polo, I immediately went to Greyson’s site to buy it. It quickly became one of my most worn pieces.
While it’s no longer in stock, it’s the closest you’ll get Gannett Polo in Vintage Indigo/Arctic. He also had a sweater-polo color combo this year that I never would have thought of myself. Usually, with a sweater, I’ll use a primary color for the sweater and a secondary color for the shirt. Well, he and Greyson did the opposite.
For his sweater, they chose a light, almost steel blue and paired it with a purple-burgundy polo and dark gray pants. That whole ensemble was easily one of my favorites this entire year. Dressing like him won’t make you play like him, but definitely take notes from JT’s style.
Billy Horschel
Horschel is in the conversation to be the best-dressed player on the tour. He’s another player I’m looking forward to seeing because his outfits are so good. What makes Horschel’s script by Polo Ralph Lauren the thing is, she never tries too hard. It’s always classic and he knows how to make color work for him.
He is one of the few on tour who can regularly pull off the green pants and not just a shade of green. We’ve seen everything from deep forest greens to lighter, almost pastel colors, and somehow it always works. He’ll pair them with a simple, well-fitted polo and let the color do the talking. The same goes for some of his more unexpected combinations like a lavender polo with navy pants, which, again, is something most people wouldn’t really think of. This is the difference. Horschel understands balance. He takes small risks with color, keeps the rest of the outfit down to earth, and the result always feels sharp and confident. It’s a classic outfit with plenty of personality and that’s why its style never fails.
Thomas Detry
Thomas Detry is the type of guy that other men are basically jealous of – good looks, great clothes and a golf game that commoners can only dream of. For now, I’d say he’s easy Hugo Boss’ the best player in the tournament and, based on his script, they should thank their lucky stars. Detry is another player who doesn’t force the issue and lets his accent pieces do the talking.
See how he matches up with the green GFORE gloves with the Elyte branding on his hat – that’s a nice next-level accent. On paper, not many would think to wear a green glove with a pink shirt, but it looks phenomenal. In every tournament I’ve seen, there’s never been a moment where I wasn’t completely impressed with Detry’s outfits or playing.
Andrea Lee
I’ll just say it: Andrea Lee has the best golf swing. I have never seen a smoother and sounder swing and I don’t know if I ever will. Another one Polo Ralph Lauren Staff, Andrea Lee has the script to match that great pace. What I really love about her style is her commitment to a consistent color scheme and having an anchor piece that holds the outfit together.
While she sometimes mixes up her color scheme, I’ve mostly seen her stick to blues, whites, and pinks. Let me tell you: it works. One of her favorite color combinations is blue and white because it looks so good. I can’t think of a couple that oozes classic Ralph Lauren more. In colder weather, she’s not afraid to wear textured or patterned hoodies and really mixes modernity with a classic wardrobe extremely well. From her outfits to her game, I expect big things from Lee in 2026.
Charlie Hull
I think Charley Hull is an absolute icon. I remember watching her putt at the 2024 US Women’s Open and her putt was much bigger than some of the top PGA Tour players I’ve seen. I can’t think of a better brand ambassador bad than her. Compared to her PGA Tour counterpart, Jason Day, Hull makes Malbo work.
A fan of knit polo shirts (!!!) that are a wonderful throwback to the 60s, she really makes the colors and patterns work by pairing them with muted pieces. Hull always has a heroic part and lets everything else fall naturally into place. Some of her outfits are stronger than others, but she combines her colors extremely, extremely, well. In the photo above, I love that she leads with a primary color for her hat and then transitions to a neutral color with her top, and then a tertiary color for her skirt. This is elite color combination and layering and a testament to how stylish she is.
Adam Scott
If you thought there was any chance you’d make it through this list without Adam Scott near the top, you, my friend, are wrong. Nothing annoys me more than golf “fans” saying Scott doesn’t dress well or “only wears beige/and tones”. If you fall into either of these camps, you need to watch more golf because none of these things are even close to true. Scott is directly into the conversation being the best dressed player on the PGA Tour.
Yes, he wears a lot of beige, but that’s because it works, looks great, and keeps things neutral so he can add pops of color through his hat, polo, or pants. What makes Scott’s script so good is that it’s understated—think the era equivalent of the Brooks Brothers gray flannel suits that once dominated New York City professionalism. Those days are long gone, but there are many of us who still crave understated elegance. Adam Scott walks with understated elegance and he’s still playing elite level golf at 45 years old.
One of Uniqlo’s top athletes, Scott believes that high quality golf equipment should be affordable. In an age where most golf apparel is really expensive, you can get a great deal Uniqlo Golf Equipment for less than $50, proving that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good. My only complaint is that they don’t release more of his scripts to the general public and we can never get anything with the Uniqlo logo. Maybe in 2026?
Keith Mitchell
If someone goes by the nickname “Keith cashmere,” you know they’re a fantastic dresser. This is Keith Mitchell. Since moving from NIKE a few years ago and signing with Sid MashburnMitchell did not have an outfit on the course. Week after week, he is better than everyone on the field. If his wardrobe was the barometer by which all other players were to be judged, Cashmere Keith would be the undisputed scapegoat.
From his undone three-button jackets to his Imperial visor, Mitchell is a young player with a southern-bred flair, and that makes all the difference. I continue to be impressed by his rejection of performance fabrics. If you pay attention to his game or know something about his preferences, when he plays, he wears 100% cotton polo shirt AND cotton OR woolen pants. In a day where performance materials dominate almost every piece of golf apparel, the fact that he’s out there playing with heritage materials is more cool than words can express.
To that end, Mitchell’s outfits are versatile and can be worn on or off the court, which is probably why, even when he’s not playing, he still looks like a million bucks. Cashmere Keith is definitely someone whose style is worth trying to capture. From his playing to his clothes, Keith Mitchell is always someone I’ll have my eye on.
