With the incredible golf season in full swing and the year speeding toward its end, golf LIVE rumors are heating up. As sometimes happens, reports have circulated incorrectly identifying the PGA Tour players who are moving to LIV Golf for 2026.
One such report made headlines on Wednesday, claiming that a South Korean professional, a two-time PGA Tour winner, was preparing to head to LIV. But on Wednesday night, that player, Im Sungjaeshut down those rumors with two simple words on social media.

After starting his career on the Japan golf tour, Im won the Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year in 2018 (then known as the Web.com Tour) to graduate to the big leagues.

In addition to the wins, Im has amassed 48 top 10s and 22 top 5s in 209 career starts. earning $34,982,404 on the course for his troubles.
And he’s something of a major threat, even if he hasn’t yet claimed to be one. In six Masters starts, Im has three top-8 finishes, including a T2 in 2020. He added a T7 at the 2024 Open Championship.
With that pedigree, Im would definitely be a huge gain for LIV Golf and an equally huge loss for the PGA Tour if he switched tournaments. With LIV Golf eager to expand their popularity globally, the fact that Im hails from golf-crazy South Korea only makes him more attractive.
But thanks to Im, we now know he’s not going anywhere.

On Wednesday, reports citing anonymous sources claimed that Im was preparing to quit the PGA Tour for LIV Golf, along with another South Korean PGA Tour professional.

Other reporters, citing their sources, denied that reports of Im’s move to LIV were true.
This led Im to take matters into his own hands.
Later on Wednesday, Im wrote on his Instagram account and posted a screenshot of the original report. But he added two words and an emoji at the top of the screenshot that solved the issue.
“Fake news,” Im wrote, along with a “push” emoji.
And with those two words, the PGA Tour star confirmed that contrary to reports, he is not switching tournaments and will continue to ply his trade on the PGA Tour.
The incident is reminiscent of a similar situation an Australian PGA Tour player found himself in earlier this year.
In November, rumors swirled that 27-year-old PGA Tour winner Min Woo Lee was considering a move to LIV Golf.
But in one interview with Australian Associated PressLee ended any speculation by confirming he was staying on the PGA Tour.
“There have been a lot of rumors. I’m not going (to LIV Golf) and I’m just going to play on the PGA Tour,” Lee told him. AAP. “So I’m happy with where I’m at and, yeah, I’m looking forward to next year.”
