New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has had a bit of a polarizing tenure during his four seasons in Queens due to his contract and slow start, but there’s no denying that he’s putting up numbers and his reach leaves a lot to be desired.
After another slow start this season, Lindor has heated up over the past few months and recently made MLB history by hitting another milestone number.
In a recent 4-3 win against the Baltimore Orioles, Lindor hit his 25th home run of the season, becoming the first shortstop in MLB history to post three seasons with at least 25 homers and 25 stolen bases.

It’s also the second straight season Lindor has accomplished the feat after posting 31 homers and 31 steals last year, and he’ll be well on his way to both those numbers this year.
Lindor posted a .941 OPS in July and stayed hot in August with a .325 batting average, while his power has rekindled recently.
Expectations for Lindor were high when he came to the Cleveland Indians in a trade due to a new $341 million contract. Since then, his combination of power, speed and defense has paid off, although the Giants haven’t had as much team success as they’d hoped.
Another 30/30 season is certainly in the cards, and at just 30 years old, Lindor has plenty of time to add to this record he has set.
