The British heavyweight title returned to BBC screens after twenty years, and the atmosphere in Derby’s Vaillant Live arena was tight and tense. A proper throwback night – raw crowd, small venue, and two big guys chasing some history. What we got wasn’t pretty, but it had enough upside to make everyone pay attention.
Frazer Clarke started quickly and looked like a man intent on ending things early. Sharp jabs, stiff uppercuts, the crowd completely behind him. But Jeamie TKV, the Tottenham boy with a wild family background, did not fold. He absorbed the early work, leaning on Clarke and slowly dragging the fight into the kind of rough stuff neither corner would have been excited about.
Has TKV’s Left Hook Decided The Whole Night?
Messy, scrappy, but competitive. Jabs barely appeared. Clean moments were in short supply. Clarke kept pinning, TKV kept leaning, and both big units threw lung shots that looked half prepared.
TKV picked up warnings for low blows and ended up losing a point, infuriating Clarke’s corner. Even through the chaos, TKV continued to land the left hook as Clarke tried to answer with the uppercut.
Then came the shot that changed everything. Round eleven — TKV hammered Clarke with a heavy left hook that instantly turned the fight around. Clarke somehow stayed upright, legs all over the place. He got to the corner, but he looked rattled. Angel Fernandez almost pulled him. Clarke refused.

The judges had it close: 115–113 and 115–112 for TKV, with one card to Clarke at 115–112.
TKV did not hold back after the final bell.
“It feels amazing. I lied to that boy in his backyard,” he said. “I knew he was going to bite, but he started blowing within the first thirty seconds. We’re not at the Olympics anymore.”
Clarke left the ring quietly, probably still trying to process it. At 35, with two defeats and the title gone, the way forward is unclear. He had early control, but when the fight got rough and physical, TKV pushed harder.
The Tottenham man now joins the list of British heavyweight champions – Cooper, Lewis, Fury, Joshua. Great lineage for an 11-fight pro, earned the hard way.
The crowd of around 3,500 gave TKV a standing ovation on his entrance and backed Clarke like a local hero. For a while Clarke looked like he might deliver for them. Then TKV’s grit and that left hook took over. Not pretty. Not clean. But very exciting.
