Sabalenka was honored during a special on-court ceremony ahead of the WTA Finals, where she received the coveted year-end No.1 trophy, celebrating another dominant campaign that saw her win another major title and lead the table at the top of the rankings.

Sabalenka is now one of only 13 players in WTA history to finish the season ranked No. 1 multiple times. In her second stint at No. 1, Sabalenka has held the No. 1 spot for 54 consecutive weeks, and 62 overall, which is good for 13th most all-time.

“It means a lot to me,” Sabalenka said. We have put in a lot of work this year and the hard work is paying off. Every final and every match was incredible, I’m super proud of the season and I hope to finish on a really good note here in Riyadh.”

In WTA history, 29 women have held the No. 1 ranking and 16 different women have finished a season as the year-end No. 1.
