Aaron Canet was fastest in Moto2 World Championship qualifying at the Mandalika International Street Circuit in Indonesia on Saturday. Aboard the Pirelli Fit Fanatic Racing Calex, the Spaniard navigated the 2.67-mile course in 1:33.434 to top the 28-rider field.
Brit Jake Dixon in the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team Calex was best with a 1:33.503 remaining.
Japan’s Ai Ogura took the third and final spot in the MT Helmets – MSI Boscoscuro with a 1:33.504.
American Joe Roberts will start from the third row after posting eighth fastest 1:33.752 in his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex.

Aaron Canet (Fantic Racing) took pole after an impressive lap in Indonesia, but Spaniard Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) has a tough race on his tail as he is held back by just 0.060. Championship leader Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI) finished just 0.001 seconds further adrift to complete the front row.
– It will be an impressive start to Q2 for Celestino Vitetti (Red Bull KTM Ajo), with the Italian crashing in the opening five minutes and now having to undergo a medical assessment before the start of the race in order to withdraw on Sunday.
– Manuel González (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2â„¢) leads the second row of the grid ahead of Beta Tools Speedup Fermin Aldeguer and Alonso Lopez, who is two tenths off Canet’s benchmark on Saturday.
– On the third row on Sunday will be Toni Arbolino (Elf Mark VDS Racing Team), with his sights set on the Italian composition after missing out on victory last time. Arbolino will have Joe Roberts (US fans only) and Somkyat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia).
– MT Helmets – MSI’s Sergio Garcia starts Moto2â„¢ looking as unpredictable as ever.
