Rafael Espinoza defends the WBO spring weight title November 15

Rafael ‘Divino’ Espinoza will make a voluntary defense of his WBO featherweight title against Arnold Khegai (23-2-1, 14 on November 15 on November 15 on San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Top Rank is presenting this event in collaboration with Zanfer Boxing.

Undercard: Delgado vs. Valenzuela

  • Lindolfo Delgado vs. Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela – IBF Super Lightweight Title Eliminator
  • Richard Torrez jr. Against TBA – Heavyweights
  • Emiliano Vargas vs. TBA – Light Welterweights

Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Knockout broke the story on Espinoza defending Khegai.

Avoidance of featherweight section

Espinoza (27-0, 23 CO’s) is at 126 like the pest avoided like the pest. As such, it is understandable why he has reduced to defend against 33-year-old Khegai rather than one of the unbeaten fighters, such as Bruce Carrington, Nick Ball and Angelo Leo.

If Khegai is as good as for Espinoza, you cannot blame the Mexican star for the fight. It is better to do this than to sit inactive.

Khegai arrives at a unanimous eight-round decision over 43-year-old former WBA Super Featherweight Champion Liborio Solis on September 12, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. For that, Khegai lost to Joet Gonzalez with a 10-round decision on March 8, 2025 in Long Beach, California.

When Khegai faces’ Espinoza on November 15, it will be his third battle in 2025. It is admirable in this time and age for a fighter.

Espinoza, 31, recently looked excellent and beat Edward Vazquez, Robeisy Ramirez x 2 and Sergio Chirino Sanchez. The victories over the two -time Olympic Cuban gold medalist Robisy were particularly impressive for the long 6’1 ″, because he dominated himself in both fights.

Uncertainty broadcast

It is currently unknown which broadcasting platform this event will display. Espinoza is with the top rank, and their contract with ESPN expired on July 26, 2025.

If the event is not shown in the US, the only positive that can come from it is that Espinoza is at least not one of the best guys used by fans. There are at least five big names at 126 that people wanted to stand up against Espinoza.
