Can a 43-year-old Golovkin pass where Canelo has not forced a penalty by Terence Crawford?

Gennadiy Golovkin’s recent remarks about his interest in returning to the ring looked forward to seeing the former United Middleweight Champion in action.

If Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 COs) returns, there are several marketable fights that fans would enjoy to see, start with Terence Crawford. This is a fight that people want to see. With Golovkin’s ability to steal his opponents, he would force Crawford to fight against him if he chose to use his running -oriented style to win a decision.

Why Golovkin Crawford beats

  • GGG’s devastating power
  • Superior jab
  • Relentless pressure and endurance
  • Experience and size

The blueprint to beat Bud

We have already seen Golovkin go with a runner -up when he knocked out former welterweight champion Kell Brook in the fifth round in September 2016. Brook tried to keep going, hoping to use a hit-and-run style to win a win.

Gennadiy did not have it because he repeatedly cut off the way of the retreat, forced Kell into the exchanges and beat him. By the fifth round, Brook’s right eye was broken, his legs gone, and he was forced to stand and trade with Golovkin. The end came quickly, because Kell was overwhelmed with bumps from Gennady, who forced his coach to throw in the towel.

So it was essentially a rehearsal for how Golovkin would deal with Crawford if he chose to run against him, because he went against Canelo Alvarez all night in their ‘Fight of the Century’, which did not meet expectations.

A more dangerous enemy for Crawford

GGG’s power and relentlessness would make him a dangerous enemy for Bud. He would be an upgrade of the ominous actions that Canelo filed against Crawford last week. There was no fire in the abdomen of Alvarez. It extinguished at age and too many wars against the Kazakhstan knockout artist.

Now 43, Golovkin still looks young for his age and he probably still has the same power he has shown in the past. The thrust that GGG still owned in his last battle in 2022 could be more than enough to defeat Terence Crawford, or what left about 35-year-old Canelo Alvarez if they were to fight.

Golvokin scored a ninth round victory against Ryota Murata on 9 April 2022 three years ago.

“Yes, why not?” Comeback -talk

The shots that Golovkin ended up in that fight would probably be too much for Crawford or left from Canelo. What is interesting is that Canelo now at the same age, 35, is that GGG was when he first fought against Canelo. Golovkin was still in the peak of his career at that age, while Alvarez faded outside of faith. It is strange how different fighters take out at different levels.

GGG recently told Boxingscene: “Yes, why not?” When asked about a comeback.
