One of the most important roles for any Pro Golfer team is Caddy. Inside the ropes, the cadets are the only rescue to have a golf player. In an individual sport like golf, this is an invaluable asset.
No wonder the benefits are so special about what they hire in the bag. A great caddy can be the difference between profit and loss, so having the correct person there with you is a must.
Jake knapp Knows this fact well. As a growing star in the game, he is doing whatever he can to make sure he is set for success – and this involves having the right kadi there.
Recently, KNAPP joined forces with Joe Greiner, for whom he worked Max Homa AND Collin Morikawa in the past. And in this week’s Golf Subpar episode, KNAPP explained how he was linked to the veteran Caddy.
KNAPP, who just finished his second full season on the tour, has known Greiner for a long time through an Assistant coach at Alma Mater, Ucla. He would also play many times along with Homa and took a close look at how he worked Greiner as a Bagman. Safe to say, KNAPP left for impression.
“I always had a list of boys that if they were to be made available, at least I would be willing to have a conversation to see if they are interested,” KNAPP said. “He was able to go to other places, but then he gave me the call saying he would be excited to work for me.”
The partnership is still only in its infancy with only one beginning for the duo so far, but if Greiner’s previous success is an indicator, the sky is the limit for both.
“We look forward to the next season with him,” KNAPP said.
