To be very clear, the Ballybunion is great. And so is lahinch. And so are St. Patrick’s connections. And so is Portmarnock. All are among List of this web site of the best courses in the world. Everyone is loved.
They are all in Ireland. Golf on Emerald Island is as strong as Guinness there. Padraig Harrington I know. He is Irish. He is a great winner three times. And when asked to name an Irish course, he would play if he could play only one, he spoke for a while.
“There can be a simple answer to this to me, can it be there,” Harrington said before this week Amgen Irish OpenPlayed in K Club, another gem. “I think if I tell my wife that I would play golf, she would go with knots and say, yes, whatever. If I tell my wife, I’m going and playing golf in Adare, she says, let’s come to play golf every day for the rest of my life, it would be in Adare because it’s so beautiful.
“Outside, there are so many good golf courses – I want to play them all. Golf courses are broken and harsh and they are a joy to play. Portmarnock, Portrush, Ballybunion, Lahinch – I start to name them, I can’t stop them. They are all fantastic.
“That’s really – if I want to become a best golf player, I’ll play this course or Adare all the time. If I want to go out and enjoy golf vaginas and as golf is supposed to be, we have all golf courses to keep you fun and frustrated for a lot of eternity. We’ve got some good things here and some good things.”
A luggage security officer one Sunday morning at Dublin airport would agree. He had a different opinion, anyway. My package had caused a sensor, so it had to inspect it. Some items came out. Toilet. A blouse. He stopped.

“Now you have to play golf here,” he said.
I told him I had. He told me I was wise.
“I don’t know why all these tourists pay 400, 500, when they can play Corballis for almost nothing.”
I smiled. In my head, I thanked him for writing the presentation in my story. I told my wife about friendly confrontation. She smiled. It would be why we found the course. As part of our first trip to Dublin, we planned to play golf, there are only many courses, and very great, but my wife does not play much, so we wanted something soluble, say. Or to say otherwise, as we hoped to eat an Irish breakfast, we didn’t want a beast of ties to eat us for dinner. And, at the beginning of this year, I explained that all for a Dublin son, who, where appropriate, was grouped in a course here in the states.

In four hours, we became, though I wouldn’t have thought I was there longer. Our new Swiss friends headed to the airport. We uber’d again. The day before, we actually passed Lahinch, one of the gems mentioned in the first paragraph of this story, on our way to return from the rocks of Moher. Even from the windows of a tourist bus called The Paddy Wagon, it seemed to fit the top 100 places.
Of course, the security officer thought we would have done well.
As a friend of mine noted, who also played with Dublin Fella earlier. After I played Corballis, I sent a picture of my wife leaving with the water to the left.
“We just played the course the Dublin’s son recommended when we played with him. It is right in the Irish Sea!”

Said Mcilroy: “If I could play a course, it would sure to be Royal County Down for me. I personally think it’s the best course all over the island. I obviously played well – I played Walker Cup there and played well last year and had a good chance. well.
“Yes, it’s funny, like me – growing up, it was on my doorstep, and I don’t think I appreciated how good all the courses are here. I think I traveled around and played in tours for young people and going to Rosses Point for the West and BALRAY for the East, I did for the good of the courses.
“Then you travel elsewhere and come back and play these courses, and we begin to realize that we are pretty lucky with all the excellent golf we have here.”
Said Lowry: “If I could play a course in Ireland for the rest of my life – this is such a difficult question. We have so many excellent golf courses. Of course I’m biased to portray. Even after opening this year, I thought the portrait was incredible. I played Portmarnock yesterday in the most beautiful weather.”
