The bay opened in 2011 along with a family farm without any connection to the resort. There is no saying how many dogs have come and went from Costa Navarino over the years, but the property develops numerous programs to take care of them and adopt their succession. Every autumn, the Hills Resort course awaits the Navarino Pet community charity trophy to raise funds for those efforts.
The income from the 15 € entry fee goes directly to a local initiative providing veterinary care, shelter and adoption for stray animals, including dogs born in the breast course. The project placed more than 250 pets throughout Greece and Europe, while providing animal education, its care and community approach.
Costa Navarino also helped start “Messinia without Strays”, which supports the protection and management of extra animals lost in the region.

How my young friend Vasilis avoids the neutering blade, I can’t say. But his cubs will also take care, too. Once they are crying, the Costa Navarino team will collect them and prepare them for adoption. The last litter was abducted for new homes by Costa Navarino employees, while others found new owners through a shelter in the nearby city of Kalamata.
When adults like Vasilis grow old from their careers as courses, they also enter the adoption program. Costakis says a sick and hungry stroller named Binoo was recently brought to the Navarino pets community and is now a loving match with the destination staff.
The latest pro-Poch initiative of Costa Navarino began in 2024 with “Hapy Hope”-an animal welfare association joining residents and volunteers of neighboring Pylos-Nestor cities and Trifilia to protect wandering beyond Golf courses and four hotels of Costa Navarino.
Back between 8 and 9 in the bay, I came at that moment every dog ​​lover is afraid. After coming halfway around the world to play four first -degree courses, I tried with a young friend who decided to adore me forever in exchange for his belly and what he achieved in half a cookie. Vasilis would have gladly spent the rest of the day – if not the rest of his life – sitting with me in the grass (at least until cookies stopped coming). But nine back and an 11-hour flight home would separate us.
With a last pet on the back, I called Vasilis to return to his package and bid him farewell. I don’t remember what I shot. But soon I will not forget the look of my fluffy friend’s over-rabbits that looked at me away.
However, I am comforted when I know that people in Costa Navarino are looking for him and his kin.
