Kylian Mbappé out for several weeks with a leg injury


Kylian Mbappé will be out for around three weeks with a leg injury picked up in Real Madrid’s win against Deportivo Alavés on Tuesday night.

The striker scored the second goal in the 3-2 win at the Santiago Bernabéu before having to retire with left leg discomfort.

Although the problem was expected to be minor and he wouldn’t miss any games, his injury is a bit more serious than first thought.

A statement from Madrid on Wednesday said: “Following the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Kylian Mbappe, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. He will be followed up.”
