Sebastian Fundora to defend WBC 154-pound title against Keith Thurman on PBC on Prime Video PPV, October 25

WBC Junior Middleweight Champion Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman will go on PBC on PBC Prime video PPV on October 25 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The controversy for pay-pervention

Despite fighting only twice in six years, the former WBA and WBC Welterweight Champion ‘One Time’ Thurman (31-1, 23 COs) will be in the main event pay-per-view against Fundora (23-1, 15 COs). It is a questionable step to put this battle on PPV, because 36-year-old Thurman was not active enough for younger fans to know who he is.

It must be free because it is not a collision that matches fans of this era. If your Fundora could take back to 2016 when Thurman was still active, it could be interested. Not now.

Keith Thurman’s recent inactivity

  • Brock Jarvis: March 2025
  • Mario Barrios: February 2022

Thurman did not fight in 2020, 2021, 2023 or 2024. Here, a world title gets on a pay-per-view against the WBC 154-Ponds Champion Fundora after only one fight in the division, the non-approved Brock Jarvis.

For young fans, Keith is just a bare man on YouTube who talks a lot about his past as an active fighter many years ago. Fundora is not a pay-per-view fighter. He has never beaten anyone well enough to fight on pay-per-viewing unless one considers the tracking of Tim Tszyu as a big name.

Mike Coppinger revealed the newS of the Fundora-Thurman battle on October 25 on PBC on Prime ppv. Thurman’s only battle in the past three years was against Australian fighter Brock Jarvis, who is not a top contender. He is just a few Aussie -man with a resume full of wins over tomato can, and which was knocked out in one round by Liam Paro in one round. It took Thurman three rounds to stop Jarvis in March.

Contenders to the WBC rankings overlooked

Fans on social media criticize Fundora who defends against the fossil Thurman, who jumps before this active top-WBC contenders:

– Israil Madrimov
– Jaron Ennis
– Serhii Bohachuk
– Jesus Ramos
– Erickson’s Lubi
– Charles Conwell

Thurman is unlikely to be competitive against any of the fighters because they are much younger, hit harder and bigger than him. It is pathetic that he has been getting a world title with just two fights under his belt since 2019. If he puts the competition on PPV, it gets even worse.
