Rory Mcilroy, speaking honestly while probably set a touch of games, has repeatedly explained The difficulties of being a Ryder cup cup.
On Wednesday, Mcilroy even discovered that he would have been asked about his own potential by becoming a European game captain on the streets. He refused. Why?
“Because I don’t think you can do it,” he said.
In six weeks, KEEGAN BRADLEY most likely to try.
Bradley’s stellar game has been the main scene of the summer Ryder Cup. He was appointed US captain for Ryder Cup in 2025 at Bethpage Black in July 2024, but his choice was a unique. Even now, at the age of 39, he is still controversial in the prime minister of his career.
Bradley playing in the 2025 Ryder Cup seemed like an opportunity when he was named to lead the US 13 months ago, but now it is a close security. He has won this summer, recorded five top 10 and lost only two cuts. It is up to the 12th place in the world rankings.
“I don’t think you will find any or a lot of Americans who will argue that he shouldn’t be in the team,” Rickie Fowler said on Tuesday.
Herein lies the problem. There are only two events left before Bradley will have to make the six elections of his captain. He is currently the 10th in Ryder Cup ranking and is likely to be playnot only captain. Mcilroy has already said how difficult it would be to do, and you know what? Bradley can agree with it.
Told about Mcilroy comments Wednesday at BMW championshipBradley said, “He may be right.”
“We don’t know,” Bradley continued. “No one knows. Everyone is telling me to start the year that a player can’t be captain and have a good year. For me, I feel this is one of my best years I have ever had.”
Asked to elaborate on the difficulties of many tasks like a player, Mcilroy drew such things as media engagements, additional meetings with America’s deputy captains and PGAs, opening ceremony tasks, and more.
“There are many things that people don’t see that the captain makes the Ryder Cup week, especially now that the Ryder Cup has become so big,” Mcilroy said. “If you had said it 20 years ago, I would say, yes, it would probably be possible to do, but how big of a spectacle and everything that is in line in a Ryder cup now, I just think it would be a very difficult position to enter. So I just think for those reasons.
“Then the captain will not be on the course all day, so only the captain will be able to play a session on Friday, a Saturday session. Will you prefer not to have a player who has the flexibility to go twice if he is playing well? There are many different things that enter it. Look, it’s just my opinion.”
The last time he had a captain playing in the Ryder Cup was 1963, when Arnold Palmer withdrew his duplicate and led the US to a victory.
While Bradley may not agree with Mcilroy’s rating, he also understands reality. Basically, he I DO To play in the Ryder Cup, as long as he has proven himself (and others) he deserves a place. (He has.) Now comes planning for that scenario, which Bradley and his five captains have probably made.
“What I have done throughout my career is really based on other people for advice and calling people and asks them, how do you prepare for a major? Bradley said. “In this case, there is no one to call. So no one knows how this can work. I certainly have a lot of worries, as well as everyone else, but I have the most incredible captains of Vice, including Jim Fury, who has been in these teams and have been captain one time. Very sincerely, I have been supported more than any other captain.
“We’re ready for that if it happens,” he continued. “I’m not sure it will go. I can really sit here now and say I don’t know what will happen. I have to look at myself just like any other player who tries to do the team. I’m 10th in points now, and that’s not the 6th.”
In three days, at the end of the BMW championship, the six main players in the Ryder Cup rankings will win automatic offers in Team USA. We will also know more about Bradley’s situation, though at this point it is difficult to imagine that he will not hit any shots to come in late September to Bethpage Black, many difficult difficulties to curse.
