Tiger Woods’ clothing brandRed sun day, Started the first retail shoe in December With a classic design specially made for forests to compete.
Shoes, pioneer cypress and, later, Magnolia pioneerI preferred all classic styling forests, including not only points but also places to insert metallic rivets. (Woods is one of the last PGA Tour players to wear nails.)
But now the company is dealing with a style of Woods golf shoes wearing in more causal environments: spik -free type.
The last publication from The day of the red sun It is the spik -free golf shoes, which had as much a meticulous development process as the pioneer line.
“Really really made my daily shoes,” Woods said in a press release. “Comfortt comfortable, but it still looks polished, and I want I can wear it directly from the golf course to a meeting or a dinner.”
Here are three things you need to know about new Osprey red sun dayas well as my thoughts on the new shoe.
Why does Tiger Woods need a spik -free shoe?
It caught my attention when the day of the Sun Red announced the addition of a windless shoe to its lineup. While it makes sense to cover that part of the market, as the shoes without spik are popular, it would also be surprised to see Woods wearing them.

Woods famously still wears metal pieces when competing on the tournament. But it turns out that he will wear without spik, almost any other time.
Charley Hudak, head of Sun Day Red’s shoe, said the original goal with Pioneer Cypress was to get a shoe that Woods could compete inside and be ready for release, but then Woods also needed something he could wear in the release himself.
“He can’t wear metallic rivets or nails there,” Hudak Golf told. “So we just reacted quickly and put it in what we called it a model on the course, outside the course. And he referred it as the coach’s shoe.”

Woods said he prefers to wear sneakers, compared to the most worn shoes, social functions, so Hudak and his team were forced to work by turning it the “coach’s shoe” into something that Woods can wear both to practice and outside the course.
A golf shoe in which you can live
Hudak, a nearly 20-year-old shoe industry veteran, says Osprey is one of the most comfortable shoes he is ever dressed in and that he himself uses it as his daily travel sneakers.
There are two main types of shoes without spik in the market: a golf shoe you can wear by the course, or a sneakers you can wear on the course. Osprey, says Hudak, is the first.

“We wanted to reduce golf performance, first of all,” he said. “And then the ability to be out of the golf course too.”
To make the shoe more durable, Hudak said they went with a glass of rubber, which increases stability. The input of Woods resulted directly in the cuttings of variable height at the bottom to provide attraction in the way they make traditional points. A 6 mm drop among Eve from heel to feet also helps a player to use ground forces while shaking.
To help comfort, Hudak said, the designers went with a 3/4 prey construction and extra foam around the heel.
Woods even wears the shoe in the gym, which is not something awaiting Hudak, but underlines the comfort of the shoe.
Aesthetics and classic style
As in previous SDR shoe omissions, the shoes have a clean brandy look, though Hudak and Woods plan to add more prominent brand to future models.
“There will be other options more aggressive brand,” Hudak said. “And this is one of the inputs I had with Tiger the last time I was in the Bahamas.

But for now, brand absence invites people to look for a shoe ear, which is Hudak’s goal.
“When you are ever in the subway or if you are traveling to the airport and people bow (and ask),” he said. “So our idea was aesthetic, the general design language attracts people.”
My thoughts
This is the red shoes the day of the sun I have been waiting for. I haven’t worn too much rippled shoes that before high school and I would never really consider the most traditional SDR omission style.

But now that the company is offering an opportunity without Spik, I dig the versatility.
In wearing my shoes around my house and my city, I found comfort (of a half size than what I usually wear) is ranked there with any spiky shoes I wore.
I have been intrigued by the cuttings of variable height on the outside for traction, as they are much smaller than the spikeless shoes they usually wear. While I have not yet done significant tests on the Golf Course, I would find it difficult to believe that a shoe created for Tiger Woods does not offer great attraction.
But perhaps most importantly, I think the price point here ($ 160) will really open SDR for more people who did not want to spend $ 250 on the original spike models.
