Warren believes Sheeraz has a shot on Canelo, but he must first conquer the dangerous Edgar Berlanga

Promoter Frank Warren says his warrior, Hamzah Sheeraz, would be a “Chance to beat” Canelo Alvarez if he were to conquer Edgar Berlanga in their battle on July 12 in New York.

Alvarez vulnerable?

The problem is that Hamzah (21-0-1, 17 COs) will not beat Berlanga (23-1, 18 COs) to get the remaining Mexican star. Canelo shot 100% against William Scull on May 3. The way he looked like he would have lost against Sheeraz and in a re -broadcast with Berlanga. Both fighters may have too much firepower for Alvarez, whose work rate has dropped to almost nothing.

Sheeraz bites more than he can chew, and goes against the Cruiserweight-sized Berlanga in his first fight on 168.

It does not look like Canelo will come past his next opponent, Terence Crawford, on September 12. Because of his endurance, the smaller, more active Bud Crawford has a good chance of winning that battle.

“Twenty years as a pro, he (Canelo Alvarez) did it since he was a child. You look at him and think of yourself, ‘If Hamzah (Edgar) can beat Berlanga, I must have him to get the chance to beat Canelo,’ Frank Warren told Ring magazine About his belief that his fighter, Hamzah Sheeraz, would have a good chance of defeating Canelo if he came through Edgar Berlanga on July 12.

Sheeraz with a beat?

Berlanga is so much bigger and stronger than Sheeraz that he can explode in the first few rounds in the next galaxy. He hits too hard, and Hamzah looks like he has a glass jaw.

You can’t blame Warren for supporting his fighter, Sheeraz, against Canelo when he gets so far. Without a miracle on July 12, however, he will become weeds from the Canelo Sweepstakes. The only way Hamzah would have a chance to get a fight against Canelo if he loses the fight is by Turki Alalshikh who wants to make it happen. I don’t know why he would do it if Berlanga lost.
