“Crawford must warm up at 160”: Boots Ennis emphasizes the size and inactivity of the size as major obstacles for Terence against Canelo in Potential September Collection

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis says Terence Crawford should take a ‘warm -up fight at 160’ so that he can stay sharp and get a feeling for what it is like to be hit by larger fighters to prepare him for his fight against the United Super Middell Middelweight Champion Canelo Alvarez in September.

IBF Welterweight Champion Ennis says he leans to Canelo (62-2-2, 39 COs) who wins because he was at 168 and dropped larger guys about 200 pounds. He has the experience and power benefit over the older, smaller 38-year-old Crawford (41-0, 31 COs).

Waiting for millions

If we assume that the Canelo match is guaranteed, regardless of, the only reasons why I can imagine why the Nebraska native Crawford is not fighting, it is:

  1. Fear of being exposed
  2. The wallet would not be huge

“I think Crawford should take a warm -up fight at 160 just to fill his body a little bigger with someone,” Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis tells Fight Hub TV About Terence Crawford who needs O, you need to take a fight against middleweight to prepare himself for what it will be like when he arrives in the ring with Canelo Alvarez in September.

Bud Crawford has everything going on against him that wins. What chance he has to be triumphant, he throws it out the window by staying inactive, putting and not risking the chance to lose the fight before getting that big payday.

“I know if you go up in weight, you have to put on the muscle and be heavy. So, he (Crawford) may not want to take a fight because he is now trying to build up. I think he should stay sharp. That way he will not have a long dismissal.

Terence got big pay days in his last two fights against Israel Madrimov and Errol Spence. He may not want to take a setup because he will probably take a tremendous wage reduction. If he moved to 160 or 168 for his warm -up, he would probably want to fight against a scrub rather than a talented top 15 contender.

Turki probably won’t pay Crawford the kind of dough he got for the Madrimov and Spence fights. Therefore, he would rather put on the shelf, not take risks, and wait for the massive windfall against Alvarez. This is the problem with fighters. Once spoiled, you can’t get them in the ring without blowing Mega millions under their snoots.

Crawford’s chances

“You have to lean to Canelo because he has been on that weight for a long time. He played out big guys. Crawford is a little smaller. Canelo really isn’t a 168 pound. He must be at 160, and he hurt these guys. He dropped these guys.

“These guys are much bigger than him, come fighting night. I know it for sure. They’re about 200 pounds, and he lets the guys fall like that. It’s going to be a wonderful fight. The fans want to see it, so be it,” Ennis said.
