Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team, will soon return as the head coach of the team. The former captain of the national team has been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the mega auction.
Rahul Dravid has been the head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team for the past few years. The former captain of the team left the side after the T20 World Cup 2024, which the Rohit Sharma-led side won under his leadership by defeating South Africa in the final of the tournament in Barbados.
After his stint with the Indian National Cricket Team came to an end, he hit the news and there were reports that he would be starring in the Indian Premier League. While only Rajasthan Royals were in the news, a recent report on Cricbuzz suggested something different.
According to reports, it is learned that some high-profile Indian Premier League franchises are keen to present a blank check to Dravid to work with them. However, the former head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team remained loyal to the franchise he played for, Rajasthan Royals.
Rajasthan Royals bought Dravid in the Indian Premier in 2011 and thereafter he captained the team in 2012 and 2013. After retirement, he became the team’s mentor and Director of Cricket in 2014 and 2015. But this franchise was later banned, he moved to Delhi Capitals where he stayed till 2018.
One of the best cricket minds, Rahul Dravid will be a big factor for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. The head coach would like to turn the fortunes of the team around and help them win their second title after winning their first title in 2008.
Rahul Dravid has had a successful career as the head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team. He led the team consistently in all three formats as they reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 and later reached the finals of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 and the ICC World Cup 2023 before winning the T20 World Cup 2024.
