To the gold mine
Former three-belt lightweight champion Kambosos (21-3, 10 COs) will challenge IBF 140-Pond title holder Richardson Hitchins next if he achieves victory. If Kambosos loses, as Hearn points out, his career is essentially over.
The ’emperor’ is unlikely to retire because he can still make good coins in front of his Australian fans, but he will not be considered an appropriate fighter among the top lightweight pool of fighters.
Kambosos’ career is already on life support while basically led by 0-4 since his troubled victory over Theofimo Lopez on November 27, 2021. He is an example of a one-hit textbook. He has conveyed a victory over an injured, ring-giant theofimo in a Gold Mine, who earns a fortune of millions Out of that lonely victory.
The way Hearn’s eyes raised when he talks about Wyllie’s chances of winning on Saturday seems to believe that the 24-year-old Kambosos will defeat. This is not a wonderful thing for Hearn if Kambosos loses this battle, as it will make his plans to make the clash against IBF lights of welterweight champion Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 COs).
This man needs victories over significant fighters, and Kambosos would be a good scalp to add to his resume. Hitchins are like a better version of Shakur Stevenson. He can do all the things he can, but with more power and aggressiveness. Hitchins is an upgraded, modern version of Shakur.
Wyllie’s opportunity
“Yes, I think there’s a lot of pressure on George this week. If you win, you move forward and fight against Richardson Hitchins for the (IBF Light Welterweight) world title to become a champion for two -year -old. If you lose, your career is over. I’m looking forward to it, ‘promoter Eddie Hearn told Jai McAllister Boxing About what George Kambosos jr. At stake in his fight against his replacement opponent Jake Wyllie this Saturday night in Sydney, Australia.
Kambosos looked nonchalant about what he was facing and rejected Wyllie as a non-threat, but he could joke himself. What George looked like in his last four fights indicates he could lose on Saturday.
‘Big bottom map with Skye Nicolson-Tiara Brown, that’s an incredible battle. We received a call on Saturday to say that he (Kamboso’s original opponent) was taken to hospital. He had some headaches and dizzy spells. He said, “We will keep you posted,” and I was like “you can’t go a week before the fight.
‘At that point, it is very difficult to bring someone out of the UK. It really takes three days to come to Australia with the time difference. When he looked at this date for Kambosos, I actually told them, ‘You have to look at Jake Wyllie. He is in the same weight class, he is young, uncontrolled and ambitious. There is a good narrative there with the established man against the young fighter, ‘says Hears.
