The three newest signees to the Most Valuable Promotions list will anchor its first prospect-based show in Puerto Rico.
Undefeated talents Jan Paul Rivera, Alex “Chop Chop” Chaparro and Krystal Rosado will appear on October 11th at the MVProspects 9 show at Coliseo Roger Mendoza in Caguas, PR. The event was announced in connection with all three young talents being officially added to the MVP. grill.
Rivera, Chaparro and Rosado are all managed together by seven-division champion Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 knockouts) and Jordan Maldonado.
“MVP’s expansion into Puerto Rico in partnership with Amanda and Jordan underscores our commitment to developing and showcasing the wealth of boxing talent from Puerto Rico,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of MVP. “We are proud to formally welcome Jan, Krystal and Alexis as the newest signees to the MVP family and look forward to showcasing these young, exciting stars in front of their home fans.
“We continue our mission to expand our talent roster and support fighters with the potential to become world stars at MVP. This opportunity not only represents a new chapter for MVP, but also reinforces our commitment to elevate the sport of boxing with top talent from around the world.”
The CELSIUS®-sponsored event will be broadcast live on DAZN, which has featured every MVProspects show since its launch in May 2023.
In the main event, Rivera (10-0, 6 KOs) will face Andy “Skeletor” Beltran (8-0, 5 KOs). Their eight-round featherweight bout will be headlined by Rosado (4-0, 2 KOs) and Chaparro (2-0, 2 KOs) against yet-to-be-named opposition.
The showcase will be the second straight headlining role for Rivera, a 23-year-old blue chip talent from Salinas, PR. He won the Puerto Rico Elite National Championships in 2020 and 2021 as a member of the national amateur team. Rivera also won a silver medal at the AIBA Youth World Championships in Budapest, Hungary in 2018.
In his most recent start, Rivera knocked out undefeated Justin Goodson on the July 24 MVProspects show in Orlando. He is now going home for the next step in his promising career.
“Signing Amanda Serrano, Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul and MVP is a great opportunity for me to become a star,” Rivera said. “I am proud to join such a dynamic, talented team. Most Valuable Prospects 9 is more than just another fight for me. This is a chance to showcase my skills and represent my home in Puerto Rico.”
Rosado has been MVP-adjacent since her pro debut in August 2023. The 21-year-old from Carolina signed with Serrano straight out of the amateurs.
She is now ready to proudly represent the promotional team that has supported her throughout this young journey.
“As the first fighter signed by Amanda Serrano, I want to make my island proud and put on a show every time I step into the ring,” Rosado said. “Joining MVP is an incredible honor.
“I’m excited to continue growing now with Nakisa and Jake in my corner. Competing in Caguas is a big moment for me, and I’m ready to show everyone what I’m capable of. This event is a great opportunity to highlight the young talent coming out of Puerto Rico, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
Chaparro returns to his homeland after two quick knockout wins in Central Florida.
The 24-year-old from the Ridgewood section of Queens, New York most recently stopped Kevin Hill in the second round on July 24. The fight was part of the DAZN Pay-Per-View event with Serrano and Paul in separate victories.
“Signing with both MVP and Amanda Serrano is a huge step in my career,” Chaparro said. ” I couldn’t be more excited to represent my Puerto Rican roots. Being a part of MVP feels like the perfect fit.
“I’m looking forward to making my mark in the ring and continuing my career under Nakisa and Jake’s guidance. This is just the beginning, and I’m ready to show the world what I’m made of.”
Serrano and Maldonado added in a joint statement: “We have worked hard to identify fighters who embody the spirit and dedication of Puerto Rican boxing. Working with MVP to elevate fighters like Jan, Krystal and Alexis is a dream come true. We know firsthand what it means to have the support of your home fans in the ring.
“We are excited to see the next generation of future champions shine on Friday, October 11. This is just the beginning of something special for MVP and Puerto Rico.”
