Arsenal will be linked to many players ahead of the transfer window this summer, now that Andrea Berta will take care of Edu as sports director.
This is the verdict of the journalist and expert in Arsenal Charles Watts, who has responded to the recent speculation about Bruno Guimaraes is a goal for gunners.
Speaking exclusively to Captured For his last direct daily daily column, Watts explained that he is not convinced that Arsenal will move to the Newcastle United midfielder on someone like Martin Zubimendi.
Watts referred to the fact that the Arsenal already seems to be in an advanced phase in its efforts to sign Zubimendi from the Royal Society, so that another type of midfielder would make more sense than Guimara.
However, the Brazil International has shone in St James Park and could be a tempting option for Arsenal and other important clubs, so some goodiers could be disappointed by this dam.
The transfer of Bruno Guimaraes does not make much sense for arsenal
Discussing Guimaraes’ latest links, Watts said, “I have seen all Bruno Guimaraes speak and it is not something that I can confirm at this stage.
)With Andrea Berta enters, I’m sure We will see that many players are linked to Arsenal, especially those who may have had an interest earlier.
“We know that Arsenal has been working hard to sit on the front of the queue for Martín Zubimendi and we hope that Berta’s arrival will help the club to achieve it in summer.
“I would be surprised that we see another midfielder of this kind of stature, but, given the clear need to significantly reinforce the future areas.
“I know it is expected that Jorginho and Thomas Partey will leave, but sign Zubimendi and Bruno in the same window feels like a little stretch.
“Bruno is a quality player, but with Declan Rice I am no longer sure it is necessary. If the arsenal would add another midfielder, as well as Zubimendi, he would prefer to be a more creative guy, someone who can share the load with Osegaard sometimes.
“This is a profile of a player who does not think they have enough of the squad. They let Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira leave last summer and never replaced.
“It was a mistake according to my opinion and I would like this summer to rectify.”
