Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman (31-1, 23 cost) wiped out his excessive return opponent Brock Jarvis (22-2, 20 COs), and knocked him out in the third round on Wednesday night in Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, Australia.
Thurman did the job and dropped Jarvis a few times in the third round before the referee stopped the competition. You could argue that the fight had to be stopped after the first round knocked out because Jarvis looked in no condition to fight again after he got up from the canvas. Thurman nailed him with a right hand who put him hard.
What’s next?
Jarvis, 27, scrambles to the corner for one last stand and falls through a left hook from Thurman. It was a good punch, but Brock looked like he would have decreased with anything at that point.
After the fight, Thurman was his usual long -term self at the press conference after the fight, and talked about his long career and achievements in the past. Whatever. He says he will be interested in fit Tim Tszyu Next, unless a larger offer comes from the US, he obviously hopes that Turki Alalshikh offers a bundle of dough to be used at one of his shows.
Thurman would be an ideal opponent for the IBF junior middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev to fight on Alcatraz on June 28. Vergil Ortiz jr. Says he can’t take the battle with Bakhram for the event because he was still injured from his last match on February 22.
If Thurman wants to fight in the US, why not the man who destroyed Tszyu in three rounds? Murtzaliev crushed Tim on October 19 last year and dropped him four times in a massacre in Orlando, Florida.
It would be interesting to see if Thurman would be willing to fight, or that he would suddenly start talking about injuries such as Vergil Jr. It would be nice to see how long Thurman lasted against Bakhram. Based on what the 36-year-old “one-time” looked tonight, I can’t see it going past one or two rounds. Thurman barely watched world class against an opponent with a glass kin.
Murtazaliev would be like “once” like a shark in the ring, and I can’t see the fight going more than one round unless Thurman runs. His mobility looked away tonight after three years of inactivity. He seemed to have rust in his once lime bones. If I didn’t know the age of Thurman, I would think he was a 45-year-old. He doesn’t beat someone who looks like this.
“Yes, the referee could stop the fight media At the press conference after the fight after this third round of Brock Jarvis Wednesday night in Australia.
“I didn’t allow that to happen. I pushed the gas and closed the show. If you have an opponent weak on their feet, you have to press the show and unfortunately I got the opportunity. I did not hesitate to do what we do as fighters of world class. It was important to get the statement.
“Tim Tszyu was not finalized. He comes with two losses. He must get a W. I can’t say if a good contract from the US would come that I wouldn’t sign it and have interest in Tszyu, ‘says Thurman. “We can negotiate these things (for a battle with the promoters of Tszyu, no limitation) if I don’t have a better offer to come.”
Before he stopped fighting regularly six years ago, his career victories against Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia were. He was mostly known for the victories, and then disappeared after losing against 40-year-old Manny Pacquiao in 2019.
