Ruben Amorim has admitted that he is “ashamed” for his performance as lead coach of Manchester United.
Since arriving in November 2024, Amorim has lost eight of his 16 Premier League games in his post, with the Red Devils they hooked in 14th place in the league in a total of 33 after 27 departures.
While a large number of followers remain behind Amorim, the new main coach confessed that he is embarrassed by the team’s performance for four months in charge.
“Sorry (people believe in me),” he said TNT Sports. “At the same time, I am embarrassed because if we look at our performance and see our team sometimes on the pitch, it is very difficult for as a coach to have many positives.”
Amorim admitted that he feels like the pressure reached his United The template, which struggles under the weight of the expectations of the Old Trafford crowd.
“I think sometimes we are so nervous in the game and you can hear it in small things,” he continued. “The way we sometimes move, understanding the game, especially in Old Trafford.
“I feel that sometimes players are in the locker room and we go to warm up and go inside to start the game, I feel the air is heavy. These kinds of things I think we show a lot in the games.
“When we suffer a goal or we have a bad moment, you feel that the connection is not there, we miss. We miss a little. I understand that it is more than football, more than tactics, it is something that is in the minds of the players.”
