Billy Horschel is a long PGA Tour veteran. He is also one lifetime Florida resident. And both of these identities came into play when Horschel had a run with an alligator in Classic connoisseur on Thursday.
The long -term event with a new name has been held in the PGA National Championship Course at Palm Beach Gardens, FL., For more than 20 years. Horschel grew up in Grant, Fla., Only north of Palm Beach area.
So it is certain to say that both the tournament and the player have a lot of experience with the alligators, the big reptiles, the teeth and the scary endemic state. Incidentally, horschel It’s a Gator itselfAfter playing in the Golf of the University of Florida in the years of his college.

If you are not completely unknown to Golf in Florida, the fact that Horschel came over an alligator during the opening round in the 7th PGA National Hole should not surprise. But if you are not a resident in Florida, what did the other Horschel made may have come as a shock.
Winner Tour Touri Set the scene when talking to reporters after the round.
“Yes, we were in No. 6 green and I just left. “The policeman working with us was walking there and tried to extinguish him, but he had nothing to touch him and he was trying to get closer.”
Approaching an alligator is reckless, even for a Floridian. So to make the game moving again, Horschel knew that they needed a tool to help scare the gas again in a Greenside Basin. A golf club would have to do.
“Either someone would have to go to No.8 and catch a robbery or I was 30 meters away, 25 meters away, and I just grabbed a club and went there and pushed it away,” Horschel said.

Thinking quickly, Horschel kidnapped the first club he saw in his bag, then ran to the police officer and offensive alligator, who seems to be approximately 6 meters long.
Without hesitation, Horschel fasted his wedge’s head in front of the chef. At first, the animal did not withdraw, but after Horschel fade it in the skull, Gator grabbed its jaws, then turned and ran for it.
To make sure the work was complete, he followed the goat all the way in the pond, then turned and turned back to the caddy and his round seemed completely greedy by the meeting.
“Listen, he was not going well. So I just went there, I helped the policeman. As Cam said before I went there, he goes, what would he do, try to use a Taser on him? But I think he would have to approach a little of him to try to make him effective, ”Horschel explained.
As you can see in the video below, Horschel ended up choosing to use a wedge to extinguish Gator away, an interesting choice given that it is the shortest club in his bag. But it turned out to be a good thing because he had a backup if Gator fought again and bit his wedge.
“I had a 60, and I didn’t think about it, but the good thing I caught a 60 because I have two extras in the closet, so if he became unavailable, I would have two more in the closet.”

And if someone was shocked by Horschel’s casual attitude towards Gator, he detailed why he was not afraid and threw some security tips for anyone planning to play Golf in Florida, too.
“Yes, I’m not afraid of Gators. Listen as I say to most people, I said, they are more afraid of you, “said Horschel.” Most of the time will only come after you during the mating season, where they are a little aggressive and then if you are around their nests when they have some eggs. “
He went on: “Most of the time, they are fine. I grew up with my dad by grasping their tail when they are on the side of the bank and shoot them back into the water. I’ve never touched a tail with my hand, but I did it with a club. Not so great for a deal. “
The incident did not adversely affect the result of the horschel. Immediately after clearing the stream of reptiles, he closed his round with bird-back birds at 8 and 9.
Those late red numbers gave Horschel a five-nine 66 year old for round 1, leaving T16 Seven shots after leader Jake KNAPP.
