Oscar Duarte knocked out on Saturday night in the seventh round of a real Slugfest Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, in former WBO Latino champion Miguel ‘Explorivo’ Madueno. In the co-function, the super-middle weights Darius ‘DFG’ Fulghum stopped in four rounds.
Duarte, 29-2-1 (23) stopped Miguel ‘Explosivo’ Madueno, 31-4 (28) at 2:09 of the seventh round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first round, both had their moments. In the second round, the late Sub Madueno held its own in a slugfest. In the third round, Duarte ended up a close but low punch, which referee Thomas Taylor, okay. Madueno did not fight back enough and moved over the ring. In the fourth round, Duarte Madueno shook the chin with a left hook, but left the house from the hook home.
In the last minute of the fifth round, Duarte opened a cut on Madueno’s left eyebrow, which caused a real Slugfest. In the sixth round, for a late sub, Madueno kept his own, although expensive still took another round. In the seventh round, Durate Madueno had his feet when referee Thomas Taylor stepped in and brought a standstill.
In the co-function, Super Middlehight, Rankings #5 WBA, Darius ‘DFG’ Fulghum, 14-0 (12) Wilfred Harris, Jr., 22-3-2 (10) stopped at 2:18 of the fourth round a scheduled 10 rounds.
In the first round, both were not impressive, with too much hold. In the second round, a stitch followed by a right on the chin of Fulghum Harris dropped for an 8 scores by referee Ray Corona. In the third round, Fulghum Harris hurt early, but Harris managed to get through the round. Before the start of the next round, Ref Corona made the ring physician look at Harris.
In the fourth round, Fulghum Harris hurt and did not defend himself enough when Ref Corona finally stepped in, and he stopped.
WBC Silver Flyweight Champion Ricardo ‘El Nino’ Sandoval, 26-2 (18) defeated NABF Fly Champ Saleto ‘Mr. Personal ‘Henderson, 10-2 (7) by a unanimous decision of 10 round.
In the first round, the shorter Henderson showed quick hands and held its own against the favorite sandoval. From the second to the sixth round, Sandoval had the lead, as the much smaller Henderson did much better than expected.
In the seventh round, both had their moments. The crowd is for Sandoval, which had to work harder than expected against the much more inexperienced Henderson. Sandoval had a small cut to his left eyebrow. In the ninth round, Henderson was still in the fight against all chances. In the tenth and last round, Sandoval won the battle, but expected a downtime, and Henderson hung there.
The scores were 98-92, 100-90 and 100-90.
Welterweight knows ‘Bossman’ Sims, Jr., 22-2-1 (8), defeated Kendo ‘Tremendo’ Castaneda, 21-8 (9), by a running unanimous decision of 10 round in a fight that is fairly competitive leveled.
In the second round, both Southpot turned when Sims went to the body and took another near round. In the fourth round, Sims Castaneda injured with a right hand to the body. Castaneda ended the round of Southpaw and ended up at four unanswered right heels at the head of Sims.
Both went to the body in the sixth round as Sims continued to land more, but Castaneda never stopped coming to the fore. In the seventh round, Castaneda Sims hurt with a combination to the Ken Midway, which was a good round for the fans, with Castaneda taking the round.
Castaneda ended strongly in the seventh and eighth rounds late and took his third round in a row. The tenth and last round was the best round of the fight, and both made everything hang out. Castaneda landed six left brackets in the final seconds on Sim’s head.
The referee was Ray Corona. The scores 98-92, 99-91 and 99-91 looked too much for Sims, Jr.
Welterweight Joel Iriarte, 6-0 (6), stops Daniel Harris, 19-24-2 (14) at 1:21 of the second round of a scheduled six rounds.
In the first round, Iriarte landed a 3-punch combination with the final hood on Harris’s head and dropped him for an 8 score of referee Ray Armendariz just before Bell against the deceased sub in Harris. In the second round, at the center of the point, Iriarte landed a short left -top on the chin and hit Harris in the ropes and dropped Harris in the corner while referee Armendariz waved off the maladjustment.
Cruiserweight Yair Gallardo, 8-0 (7), knocked Carlos ‘Pupita’ Miranda, 7-2 (3), at 1:41 of the first round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first round, Gallardo ended up a top of the chin, followed by a few more blows to the body, and dropped Miranda, while referee Thomas Taylor counted him out.
Lightweight Daniel ‘Junebug’ Garcia, 11-0 (9) knocked out Francisco Pacheco, 7-4-2) at 2:40 of the third round of a scheduled six rounds.
In the first round, a clash of heads caused a cut on top of Pacheco’s head. In the second round, Garcia draws blood from Pacheco’s nose with a right hand. In the third round, the bleeding of the nose continued as Garcia Pacheco expanded from the country, dropping him with a left to the body, while referee Ray Corona counted him on a knee.
Super Bantamweight Southpaw Gael ‘el Terrorista’ Cabrera, 7-0 (4) defeated Roberto ‘Escorpion’ Pucheta, 14-26-3 (8), with a six round decision.
In the first four rounds, Cabrera Pucheta, which was the aggressor, exceeded. In the sixth and final round, the 20-year-old remained unbeaten and took all six rounds.
The scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 60-54.
The middleweight Fabian Guzman, 6-0 (6), defeated Daniel Lim, 11-3 (3) with a six round decision.
Super lightweight Javier meza (2-0, 2 ko) knocked out Lyle McFarlane (3-7, 1 ko) at 2:15 of the second round of a scheduled four rounds.
Meza had McFarlane on his feet in the second round, causing referee Raymond Armendariz to a halt.
Bantam weight Kevin Gudino (2-0 (2) stopped Kenario Davidson (1-2) at 0:35 of the third round of a scheduled four-round attack.
In the third round, a combination of Gudino dropped Davidson and forced referee Chris Leben to blow it off.
The ring announcer was Mark Fratto.
