MyGolfSpy WITB Casual: Volume 2

Each week, we’ll highlight a WITB from a member of the MyGolfSpy Forum. Do you have an interesting bag or want to stand out? Share your WITB here.

To kick off this series, we have what might be the coolest bag of any member on the Forum. I say this because the LAB DF2.1 might be the most “normal” club in his bag.

Let’s get into it.

Driver: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Max D

About the club: EasyPutter was one of our chosen members to test the AI Smoke Max D and it proved worthy of staying in the bag, for now, as he still has a love-hate relationship with it.

Hybrid: Tommy Armor 19-degree 3-Hybrid

About the club: This club was a gift from the PGA Western NY Central Section at the conclusion of the program in August 2019. The Tommy Armor hits nice and straight from both the grass and a short tip, with distances from 160 to 185 yards.

Trouble Club: Stan Thompson Ginty

About the club: A find from a local golf shop, it features a 4-wood shaft and boat-shaped sole to part the grass like a boat hull parting the waves, minimizing the effect of the grass on the club swing path in the rough. The weight is on the bottom of the club head and it really works well when a hybrid tends to thin a ball lying low into the grass.

Irons: FirstStrike Deliverance Hybrid Irons

About the clubs: These have been favorites for EasyPutter as he is on his third set. For him, “the wider sole can get good separation, but I had a lot less swing working the ground.” They may look unconventional, but if they work, that’s really all that matters.

Gap Wedge: Worx 56 degree hybrid wedge

About the club: Another club with a non-traditional hybrid sole that helped him in his bunker play and met his gap needs in his bag.

Lob Wedge: Lovett Golf Company 59-degree

About the club: This club continues to meet the needs of the EasyPutter. After finding success with the previous hybrid style wedge, the Lovett 59-degree made the bag as it was another find used in the club.

Chipper: Orlimar Escape CH 37-degree

About the club: The bottom line: it was a club he had been looking for that suited his needs. After a quick test, he determined it was what he needed, so he made the bag.

Putter: LAB DF2.1

About the club: EasyPutter was one of our Forum Member Testers for the first LAB Member Test a few years ago. The DF 2.1 successfully made it into his bag after testing and has helped him improve his outfit in the years to come.

EasyPutter’s WITB shows that you don’t necessarily need all the latest equipment to enjoy golf and play your best. After playing with numerous bands and different clubs, these are the ones he has come up with and found the most successful.

jQuery(document).ready(function($) { var slides = $( ‘#mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27 .mgs-gallery-images .mgs-gallery-image’ ).length; if (slides 6 ) { slides $} ( 6 ; ‘ #mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27 .mgs-gallery-images’ ).slick( { slidesToShow: 1, slidesToScroll: 1, fade: true, prevArrow: ‘‘, next arrow:’‘, asNavFor: ‘#mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27 .mgs-gallery-thumbs’, swipe: false, mobileFirst: true, } ); $( ‘#mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27 .mgs-gallery-thumbs’ ).slick( { slidesToShow: ( slides – 1 ), //less than the number of slides, so it always shows infinite scrolling slides (bugfix) slide1, arrow : asNavFor : ‘#mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27 .mgs-gallery-images’ , centerMode : true , focusOnSelect : true , infinite : true , mobileFirst : true , responsive : ( { breakpoint : 1023 , settings : { slidesToShow } : : 600, settings: { slidesToShow: 1, }, }, ), } ); $( ‘#mgs_gallery_66d5df9db6e27’ ).magnificPopup( { delegate: ‘.mgs-gallery-trigger’, type: ‘image’, gallery: { enabled: true, arrowMarkup: ‘‘, }, } ); } );

Be your brand and use what’s best for you.

This is a wrap! Want to be featured next? Share individual photos of your clubs in the Forum thread here and share a little background for each club.
