Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford reportedly agreed to their long -speaking megaclash in September in Las Vegas. This is the battle that the former World Champion of four divisions has put on the standings of Crawford (41-0, 31 COs) since moving up to 154.
Many fans consider it a cash grab without competitive value. It would not be seen as Crawford tone some gumption by moving to 168 and adopting David Benavidez or David Morrell to prove himself.
Not surprisingly, he showed no desire to mix it with the two sharks and will probably become weed out of the Canelo battle. Therefore, many fans will battle as a Business level match rather than a sporty one. In true sports, teams and players earn their way. Crawford doesn’t. The Canelo fight is given to him on a silver tray.
Crawford’s pressure pays off
The ring revealed that the WBA junior middleweight champion Crawford and the United Three-Belt Super Middleweight Champion Canelo (62-2-2, 39 COs) agreed to a fight in September.
Terence wanted this battle for what he says “legacy‘Purposes to show that he is the best, but fans suspect it is only his desire for retirement field. He is an old smart fox, soon 38 on September 28, and he wants the mother’s cash he can get from a fight against superstar Alvarez.
Canelo, 34, is expected to take a fight against Cinco de Mayo in May, possibly against IBF champion William Scull to regain his belt with the organization. It would make the undisputed champion for the second time at Super Middlevig.
For fans who care about titles, it will increase the mega fight with Crawford in some respects. Most people would not care about the Canelo-Crawford collision with four belts instead of just three. They just want to see the two squares to prove who is the best of the best.
Crawford has not yet proven to be the best at 154 pounds. He had one fight at junior middleweight and will move two weight classes to challenge Canelo on 168.
It’s going to be difficult for the Nebraska native. Hopefully he will fight and not mimic the Mayweather style that his coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre said he would be for the Canelo collision. If Crawford moves, Jabs and lasts all night as Mayweather did in 2013 to defeat Canelo, it could be a boring battle for the fans.
This is the only chance of Crawford because he is not powerful enough to hurt Canelo with his shots, and he will not be able to take the big shots with which he will be beaten if he mixes it with the Mexican star.
