Harris English has knocked on the door at Torrey Pines before.
The 35-year-old held the lead of 54 holes in Torrey Pines in 2015 but lost on Jason Day in a Play off. Six years later, English found himself in quarrel in 2021 US Open but finally ended the third after Jon Rahm champion and Louis Oosthuizen race.
On Saturday, English time finally reached one of his favorite PGA Tour courses. English began the last round of security of 2025 farmers open with a lead with a stroke on Andrew Novak and needed any artisanal and gravel ounce to survive a precise test and avoid being a bride again in the iconic course La Jolla, Calif.,
English was prevented from the gates early. He cheated no. 1 and no. 5 to throw a back of Novak. But English returned with a bride in the sixth and then calmed down while everyone else faded in stretching.
Well, all, but Sam Stevens.
Stevens came out early and posted a 4-nine-par 68 to enter the club in the 7th, pressing English coming home.
But English never stared, despite not having his best things on Saturday. He hit only four roads and eight greens in the regulation. He was ranked 50th in the field in the stroke obtained: off tee in round 4 (-0.435). But he was 7-per-9 rubbing and on average 1.88 strokes for green in the regulation. English made 11 pars rights from no. 7-17, including a bunch of two rods from 56 meters to 17.
English arrived at Par-5 18 which needed a 12th right to secure its first victory since 2021.
As the topic had been throughout the day, English was wild, connecting it low and left. His ball crossed the carriage trail and was blocked by an Eucalyptus tree. English took the conservative road and crashed it down the road, leaving itself 122 yards with its third. Needing a full end pace to label his name in a trophy he has coveted, English pulled the sand wedge out of his bag and gripped his third shot in 24 meters, providing himself with a The dynasty to place it again in the winner circle for the first time in 1.308 days.
“Yes, it’s always a trip,” English said in his interview after round with CBS ‘Amanda Balionis After ending a clear blow to stevens on the 8th. “Now I’m 35 years old. I’ve done this for 14 years, and never gets easier. I like her grinding. I like to be here in PGA Tour, and I like to do such things. This is what we play for.
“I have so much respect for this game and so much respect for players here. Harden hard to win. I could have seen quiet there on the course, but within your emotions they are going crazy. I just know how difficult it is to Win and it is a lot of fun and you have to immerse it when you do it. “
Now a five -time winner in PGA Tour, English always thought he would find a way to win one in Torrey Pines.
On Saturday, as the winds crashed and all around it were prevented, English was able to key its nerves and buy a win 10 years in doing.
“I love difficult placements, difficult conditions,” English said. “I’ve played well in this golf course in the past. He approached the US open here. Lost in a play off here. I like how this course is set for me. I like how, as my man and my man ( Caddy Eric Larson), ‘You have to put your mouth as if I did it today.
English just continued to break up on Saturday, and when Torrey Pines had finished dismantling the field, he was the only one who remained standing because he was the one who embraced the most test.
