Chelsea offered the chance to cash in on their Premier League rivals’ summer transfer window

Brighton & Hove Albion have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, a report has revealed.

Chelsea signed Tosin for free transfer in the summer when his Fulham contract expired, but the 27-year-old has failed to hold down a place in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up and has fallen behind academy graduate Josh Acheampong in the ‘hierarchical order in recent weeks.

Having started just seven times in the Premier League this season, Tosin has received an approach from Brighton, with The Post Office claiming there is significant interest in taking the centre-back away from Stamford Bridge this month.

Only if Chelsea will host an exit for Tosin remains to be seen. Most of their starts have come due to injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, but despite the French pair’s fitness issues, Chelsea are still well stocked at the back.

Levi Colwill is a permanent starter and Acheampong, 18, has joined the center of defense in recent weeks. Tosin has acted as cover alongside Axel Disasi, while both Trevoh Chalobah and Aaron Anselmino have been withdrawn from respective loans with Crystal Palace and Boca Juniors.

From the group, reports suggest Chelsea are willing to part ways with Disasi, but the Blues could be tempted by the chance to make immediate profit from Tosin, who was signed for nothing just seven months ago.
