Aston Villa They are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Caen wonderkid Tidiam Gomis on a five-year deal.
The talented 18-year-old has been highly rated by Europe’s top clubs, and now looks set to take the next step in his career.

Reports in France suggest Villa have moved to the front of the queue for Gomis’ signature, with the teenager expected to agree a five-year deal starting from July.
Until then, Gomis will see out his current deal at Caen before moving on as a free agent in the summer, with Villa Park looking his most likely next destination.

Villa are a serious and ambitious club these days, with manager Unai Emery doing a fantastic job of guiding them to the Champions League this season.
AVFC will now look to continue to build on that, and that will mean using the experience of sporting director Monchi to land some of the best young talent in the game.
Gomis certainly looks like one of those, and it will be interesting to see how he can continue to develop under Emery.
Villa makes sense as a good destination for someone like Gomis, who will want to make sure he can play regularly in the coming years before looking for an even bigger move before too long.
Villa’s project, however, could also mean he can stay and be a key part of his long-term future, with the club seemingly on the move.
If not, they could also do well to establish themselves as a good ‘stepping stone’ club as some big names in Europe have done, which will give them access to other top talent in the future.
