Antony’s agent reveals Man Utd position on January transfer


The agent of Manchester United winger Antony has revealed that the club have given no indication of a desire to part ways in January. transfer window

An £82m signing from Ajax in 2022, Antony has failed to live up to expectations and has lost his place in the team under former manager Erik ten Hag, with current boss Ruben Amorim unwilling to return the Brazilian international in their starting line-up.

Accordingly, reports have claimed united they have already decided to cut ties with Antony when the winter transfer window opens.

While Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso confirmed he had spoken to other clubs about a potential move in January, he revealed United have shown no desire to pursue a move.

“Yes, many clubs have approached us for Antony’s transfer in January,” he said Fabrizio Romano. “These clubs wanted to understand Antony’s situation, so I can confirm that there is a concrete interest.

“To be fair, Manchester United have never expressed any interest in selling or loaning Antony to us. We have never received that kind of communication until now. Man Utd management never told us they wanted him to Antony is leaving, despite the reports we see around about our client.”

Pedroso, however, admitted they would be willing to listen to United if the Red Devils suggested a January loan move away from Old Trafford.

“I can say that Antony’s future is very much linked to the interests of Manchester United,” the agent continued. “If the club thinks it would be a good idea to sell Antony in January so he can get more minutes and regain his confidence, we will work together on that option.

“Otherwise, Antony is working hard to regain his place and show his best skills under new coach Ruben Amorim.”
