Man United said for Troy Deeney to get rid of Antony

Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-3 defeat against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.

The defeat saw Ruben Amorim’s side knocked out just before the semi-final stage and miss out on one of their best chances of winning a silver medal this season.

Among the Red Devils’ poor performers on the night was Erik ten Hag’s expensive signing Antony.

The former Ajax man was given the go-ahead by the likes of Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho to start the game but once again fell short, like most of his Man United career.

Football pundit Troy Deeney has told the Premier League side to get rid of Antony as they play better without him.

While analyzing the match CBS Sportsthe former Watford man claimed that Amorim’s side started to play much better when Antony was withdrawn.

“As soon as Manchester United got Antony off, everyone else started running.” Deeney said.

“They need to cut ties with him. I don’t want to make him the scapegoat, but honestly, it’s very frustrating to watch. This is your big moment.

‘Don’t run, don’t sprint… just take it out.

“If you get rid of Marcus Rashford, whoever takes him, we’ll pay you to take him (Antony) too. Get him out of the club.

Deeney was unimpressed with Antony’s work rate against Tottenham and expressed his frustration with the Brazilian winger’s performance.

Since joining the club, Antony has struggled to perform at the highest level and this season has been the same for him.

It was believed that a change of direction could help the player revive his career, but those optimistic ideas were soon dismissed.

Man United reportedly want to offload Marcus Rashford after claiming he is ready for a new challengeAntony is also someone who should be shown the exit door at the club and sold as soon as possible.

His presence in the squad is not helping the team in any way and instead of messing around with him, it would be better if a youngster from the academy is given opportunities.
