Yps are detrimental to any golfer, and almost every golfer has suffered from them at some point.
On this week’s episode of GOLF Subpar, Joel Dahmen explained some of his hits with the stars, which included punching and 7 irons. (“Sahith Theegala has that too, right?” asked Dahmen. Yes, he does.)
But Dahmen’s stars go beyond the golf course. Like, for example, he is currently fighting autograph oops.
“Oh, bad; it’s not good,” he said. “I have never claimed to have a great signature. My handwriting is rotten. Like you think if you can hit a golf ball maybe you can sign your name but I struggle with this whole deal. But yeah, the cursive ‘J’ looks fine, but I freeze on the ‘E’ now. The pen just stops for a full second and then it will go and get a little clumsy. … Let’s say you signed 15 or 20 kids after the round. Right now it’s taking me twice as long as the other guys to cross that line and it’s not pretty either.”
But his rampages don’t end there. He also has parking oops.
Dahmen explained that his trusty caddy, Geno Bonnalieusually drives when they are touring, and Dahmen’s wife usually drives if they run places together. But when he’s alone and faced with a large parking lot with many options, it takes him a while to find a spot for his 2017 Ford Explorer.
“I let the car choose where it wants to park,” Dahmen said. “Sometimes you just have to let the car go and sometimes it takes a little longer to find where it fits. I’ve been parking braked for a while. I am a strong driver. My wife calls me Grandpa Driver. I’m not tearing up 80 around 101 or going 55 on Scottsdale Road, but I pull into these parking lots and just can’t pull the trigger on a spot.
“And it’s not like I can’t put the car in there, I’m a safe driver,” he continued. “But sometimes there’s a car seat, you have to have room for them, and you try to get the kids in the back seat and then you have to find the passenger seat with more room than the other side, and it takes a little more a lot of time. .
