Quail Motofest Announces Featured Classes for 2025 Event – Road Racing World Magazine


CARMEL, CA – Carmel’s premier motorcycle festival returns to Quail Golf Club on Saturday, May 17, 2025 as Quail MotoFest. The newly awarded event celebrates life on two wheels with over 200 vintage and modern bikes on display. such as live music, lifestyle vendors, a separate kids area and a variety of food and drink options in a festival-like atmosphere.

Three featured sections recognize significant motorcycle brands and anniversaries: Italian Innovation by BMW, Tribute to Yoshimura and Celebrating 45 Years of the BMW GS.

Engineering excellence will be in focus next year with the Italian Innovation at Bimota division. Internationally recognized for its superior engineering, lightweight frames and rugged spirit, Bimota has customized top models for major motorcycle manufacturers including Suzuki, Honda and Kawasaki. Bimota has produced several popular models including the Tesi H2, BB3, DB1 and YB4 EI.

The Yoshimura Tribute section highlights Yoshimura’s long history of high performance motorcycles and racing. Founded in 1954 by Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura, the company has produced the gold standard for engine tuning and parts for the motorcycle industry, including industry-leading aftermarket exhausts such as the legendary Kawasaki Z1 4-into-1 pipe. Yoshimura was also heavily involved in motorsport. The Yoshimura Suzuki Road Racing Team and Team Yoshimura Suzuki Motocross and Supercross teams have won over 30 AMA, WORCS and GNCC races.

Celebrating 45 years since its inception, the BMW GS is known for its versatility, comfort and off-road capabilities and has set the benchmark for adventure motorcycles worldwide. The GSS name comes from the German phrase “Gelände/StraBe”, meaning “land/street”, and its image distinguishes the bike from other BMW models with its upright riding position, long travel suspension and large front wheel. BMW continues to define the Adventure Touring segment, with millions of GS models delivered worldwide.

“Over the past 15 years, the Quail MotoFest has become an annual treat for motorcycle enthusiasts on the West Coast,” said Quail Courtney Ferrante, director of Peninsula Signature Events. “The reimagined event combines unique and rare motorcycles with something the whole family can enjoy.”

In addition to the featured classes, the Quail MotoFest includes 10 traditional classes including American, British, Italian, Other European, Japanese, On-Road Racing, Off-Road Racing, Classic, Custom/Modified and Choppers.

The festival takes place on Friday, May 16 with the Quail Ride. Participants will depart from Quayle Golf Club on a 100-mile ride through the back roads of the scenic Monterey Peninsula, including a rally at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, lunch at noon. and dinner in the evening. Vintage and modern motorcycles are welcome, but spaces are limited.

The Quail is currently accepting applications to enter the event. Tickets for Quail MotoFest will be available in January 2025.
