Major League Baseball’s offseason saw Juan Soto, the biggest free agent in this year’s class, sign a whopping $765 million contract with the New York Mets over 15 years.
Now that Soto is off the table, attention turns to other big-name free agents who have yet to be signed.
Corbin Burnes of the Baltimore Orioles is considered the best starting pitcher on the market.
Multiple teams are reportedly interested in Burns, and an MLB insider recently revealed where the righties will end up.
“I see this eventually leading to San Francisco,” said Ken Rosenthal via Foul Territory.

Rosenthal doesn’t believe the Boston Red Sox or Orioles are willing to sign a starting pitcher long-term, so he thinks Burns will end up with the San Francisco Giants.
Burns grew up in California, and some people believe he wants to play somewhere out west.
The veteran made his debut with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018 and played for them for six seasons before being traded to the Orioles.
In 2024, Burns started 32 games and went 15-9 with a 2.92 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 194.1 innings.
The Giants have missed the postseason in three straight and seven of their last eight.
Sitting in the National League West with the champion Los Angeles Dodgers, it would make sense for the Giants to pursue ace-caliber starting pitchers as they attempt to win their first division title since 2021.
