Brewers reliever is on the trade block, insider says

The Milwaukee Brewers lost their second straight wild-card series, finishing 93-69.

Although the Brewers won their second straight National League Central title and third in the last four seasons, they were unable to make a long postseason run.

After failing to make the playoffs in their last five National League Championship games, the Brewers could make some moves this offseason.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal has revealed that Brewers relief pitcher Devin Williams is on the trade block, with multiple teams interested in him.

“Last night we reported over ten teams interested in him,” Rosenthal said via Foul Territory on the X.

Williams entered the league in 2019 with the Brewers and has spent all six years of his MLB career with the organization.

An injury-shortened 2024 season for Williams still resulted in dominant numbers in the games he played.

In 2024, Williams appeared in 22 games and posted a 1-0 record with a 1.25 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 21.2 innings.

While he was dominant during the regular season, Williams struggled in the postseason as he appeared in two games and posted a 21.60 ERA with 1 strikeout in 1.2 innings.

Rosenthal notes that the reason so many teams are interested in Williams is that he is not that expensive.

Because of this, Williams has interest from many smaller market teams, and it will be interesting to see what happens with him this offseason.

The Brewers will look to win their third straight division title as they attempt a longer playoff run in 2025.
