Chelsea signing Estevao Willian has backed to be a big star

Chelsea acquired the services of Estevao Willian from Palmeiras for a fee of around £29 million.

The 17-year-old striker will join the London club in July 2025and is currently impressing with regular football at Palmeiras. The South American is considered one of the best young attacking prospects and former Brazilian superstar Ronaldo has backed him to become a top-flight player.

Two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo believes he is quite similar to Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal.

He said via gms: “He is a young and very talented player. It’s like Lamine Yamal. He will soon be a big soccer star. He is very promising, only 17 years old. I think he will play for Palmeiras in the Club World Cup and then join Chelsea”.

Yamal has been exceptional for Barcelona since breaking into the first team scene. He has established himself as a regular starter for the Spanish club and has also done exceptionally well with the Spanish national team, helping them win the Euros earlier this year.

Yamal is regarded as one of the best young players in the world, and Chelsea fans will be delighted to see their new signing compared to the Spain international.

Estevao Willian could improve Chelsea

It will be interesting to see if the 17-year-old Brazilian can quickly adapt to English football and make an instant impact next season. Chelsea need more quality and depth in the final third and Estevao will deliver with goals, pace and style in the side. He could add some much-needed unpredictability to Chelsea’s attack with his technical ability.

The opportunity to play for Chelsea will also be very exciting for the youngster, and he will be looking forward to fulfilling his potential with the London club in the coming years. If Chelsea managed to get the best out of him, the investment would look like a bargain in the future.
