The New York Mets were arguably the greatest Cinderella team to make it to the National League Championship Series in the 2024 Major League Baseball postseason.
After a productive and somewhat surprisingly successful season, the Giants head into the offseason with a World Series title in mind for 2025.
Rumors have been swirling about the New York Yankees’ top free agent this year, Juan Soto.
The Mets are part of the latest news as former MLB GM Jim Bowden revealed his thoughts on the contract the Mets offered Soto.
“If the Mets offered 15 years, $700 million, they’re going to get Juan Soto,” Bowden said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.
So… about THAT new Juan Soto? #Big rumor 👀@JimBowdenGM with some context.#LGM:

Soto has been in the MLB news spotlight lately as baseball fans await his decision on where he will play in 2025.
Along with the Mets and Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays also held talks with Soto this offseason.
Bowden believes that if the Mets offer Soto that contract, he will be a Mets in 2025.
He also suggests that if they go for the $700 million mark, they’ll offer at least $701 million to ensure it’s a record deal after Shohei Ohtani signed with the Dodgers for $700 million last year.
Soto’s lottery continues to throw curveballs, and it will likely keep everyone on the edge of their seats until the decision is announced.
After an NLCS appearance in 2024, the Mets look to make their first World Series appearance since 2015 next season.
