Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh He revealed that he has not spoken to the former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni in more than a decade. Known for his fiery performances on the field, Harbhajan revealed this surprising detail about his relationship with the wicketkeeper-batsman during a recent interview.
There has been no communication for over ten years
Harbhajan revealed that he has not spoken to Dhoni except when they were together in the last 10 years. He noted that they had no personal communication outside of the place and did not visit each other’s rooms, adding that he did not know the reason for this distance.
“No, I am not talking to Dhoni. When I was playing for CSK, we used to talk, but we haven’t talked otherwise. It’s been 10 years and more. I have no reason; maybe it does. I don’t know what the reasons are. When we played in IPL in CSK, we used to talk then and that too was limited by the ground. After that he did not come to my room, so I went to his room”, Harbhajan said in a conversation with News18.

Lack of communication
Harbhajan made it clear that he had no problem with the person in question and believed they would have spoken up if they had had concerns. The veteran spinner does not call people who do not reciprocate their efforts, as they value mutual respect and sensitivity in relationships. If his calls go unanswered, he limits interaction as necessary.
“I have no opinion against him. If he has something to say, he can tell me. But if he did, he would have told me by now. I never tried to call him because I was so excited. I only call those who answer my calls. I don’t have time otherwise. I keep in touch with people I am friends with. A relationship is always about give and take. If I respect you, I hope you will respect me. Or answer me. If I call you once or twice and don’t get an answer, I’ll probably hang out as much as you need.“, added the former Indian cricketer.
Partnership on the field, distance off the field
Playing together for over a decade, Harbhajan and Dhoni shared a remarkable partnership on the field. They played an important role in India’s victory 2007 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. Harbhajan also played under Dhoni during his IPL experience with Chennai Super Kings and contributed to their title-winning campaign in 2018. However, despite these shared milestones, their camaraderie off the pitch seems limited.
