The Major League Baseball offseason is underway as more and more players in the free agent class sign with new teams.
While the biggest free agent, Juan Soto of the New York Yankees, remains unsigned, there is plenty of talk surrounding other big-name players.
Most of them likely won’t sign until Soto makes his decision, but Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willie Adames is reportedly drawing interest from some American League teams.
“John Morozzi links free agent Willie Adams to Yankees, (Houston) Astros and (Boston) Red Sox,” wrote MLB Network on X.

Adames is one of several players who has said he would be willing to switch positions if offered the right deal with the organization.
According to Morosi, the shortstop could potentially play second base for the Yankees or third base for the Astros.
Adames debuted with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018 and has played seven MLB seasons.
In 2024, Adames played 161 games for the Brewers and hit .251 with 32 home runs, 112 RBI and a .794 OPS.
He hit career highs in both home runs and RBIs and could bolster a contender’s offense in 2025.
Soto’s signing will likely be needed before the Adames deal can happen, but if the Yankees let go of their star outfielder, they may be interested in pairing Adames with Anthony Volpe in center field.
This offseason has already provided fans with plenty of twists and turns, and there are likely to be many more before the 2025 campaign begins.
