Most baseball fans are aware of how bad the Chicago White Sox were in 2024, as they broke the record for most losses in a single season in the modern baseball era with 121.
Even though the White Sox were the worst team in baseball, just four seasons ago they won the AL Central 93-69.
The White Sox need to make some major changes if they want to get back to that competitive level.
To do so, they are reportedly willing to part with arguably their most popular and skilled player.
“The White Sox would like to trade Luis Robert Jr., according to Bob Nightengale (USA Today),” wrote B/R Walk-Off at X .

Robert has been the standout player for the White Sox since entering the league in 2020.
The 2023 All Star and Silver Slugger winner struggled like the rest of the team in 2024.
In 100 games, Robert batted .224 with 14 home runs, 35 RBI and a .657 OPS.
The decline is significant as he played in 145 games in 2023 and batted .264 with 38 home runs, 80 RBI and an .857 OPS.
Nightengale reports that the White Sox may try to trade Robert for a player package this offseason.
The White Sox have lost 20 more games in each season since 2022, when they had an 81-81 record, and this is likely the last for the team.
It would be hard to get much worse than the 2024 White Sox, and now they will be looking to rebuild and get back to a competitive level as soon as possible.
