The Minnesota Twins finished the 2024 season with 82 wins and 80 losses, which placed them in fourth place in the American League Central.

In a division responsible for three playoff teams in 2024, the Twins weren’t one of them, as they just missed out on the last wild card in the American League.

As the Twins prepare for the 2025 season and try to get back to the postseason, their general manager Jeremy Zoll says prospect Emanuel Rodriguez could have a big role next year.

“He’s going to have a real opportunity to contribute at some point here next season,” Zoll said.

Rodriguez is a 21-year-old outfielder who is considered a five-tool player and could make an impact in the MLB as early as next season.

In 2024, Rodriguez played for four different teams and hit .280 with nine home runs, 27 RBI and a 1.026 OPS in 47 games.

Zoll says they want to make sure Rodriguez can stay healthy and be on the field as much as possible when he makes the jump to the big leagues.

The Twins won the AL Central in 2023 and will look to return to the division title in 2025 after missing the 2024 postseason.

With three World Series titles in franchise history, the Twins haven’t won a title since 1991, the last time they made it to the postseason series.
