Man United hero Ruud van Nistelrooy has penned a farewell letter to fans of the Manchester giants after a brief spell at the club during the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Dutch manager returned to Old Trafford at the start of the season as part of Erik ten Hag’s backroom team and the move was wonderfully received by Man United fans.

Van Nistelrooy is a legend at the club due to his successful playing career in Manchester and after the sacking of Ten Hag, it would have been a dream for the 48-year-old to be asked to manage the club on a temporary basis.

The former striker’s time in charge of the Red Devils was a huge success as the Dutch manager went unbeaten in his four games in charge, winning three, allowing him to leave with 75 win percentage

Many in the Man United squad wanted Van Nistelrooy to stay and the 48-year-old admitted he would either way..

However, new boss Ruben Amorim had no place for the Dutch coach in his back teamwhich led to the Man United legend leaving Old Trafford this week.
