On November 29, 2023, Montana freshman Moni Williams was in Reno, Nevada for a game against the Wolves when she received word that her father had passed away. Less than a year later, Monie and her four siblings lost their mother, LaToya Bailey, when she died unexpectedly last month, leaving Mine and her older sister, Monie, to care for their three younger siblings.
In the wake of the tragedy, Money left the team and has since coordinated a GoFundMe: is campaigning with her sister to help cover funeral expenses and provide stability for their sibling’s education and new family challenges. While dealing with the weight of two seismic losses and taking responsibility for her younger sibling’s future, Mayne simultaneously returned to fulfill her commitment to the program and her journey. After dropping 30 points against the Tennessee Volunteers on November 13th, it was over $10,000 Donations have been reported.
As of Nov. 15, the GoFundMe has raised more than $100,000 with a goal of $150,000.
“We understand that these are difficult times for everyone and there is no obligation to contribute. However, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated and would make a significant difference in our lives,” Money and Mo’Ney wrote. GoFundMe: post
