Crystal Palace relegation commented by Alan Pardew

Former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has commented on his former club’s current struggles and discussed whether they could really face relegation under Oliver Glasner.

Pardew has been out of Premier League management for some time, but still offers the occasional insight as a pundit, and will no doubt be interested to see how his former club fare.

Palace are not doing well under Glasner at the moment, despite the Austrian tactician making such a promising start at Selhurst Park in the second half of last season.

So could the Eagles now be in very real danger of going down? Pardew genuinely seems to think they will eventually end up having too much quality to be dragged into the bottom three.

Alan Pardew has his take on Crystal Palace

“I look at Palau. They are 18th in the Premier League with seven points. Are they going to go down? I just can’t see it,” said Pardew.

“I mean, they’ve been in the Premier League for 12 years. I think they’ve got more than enough quality to sit comfortably in mid-table when we get to the end, but with the competition there is in that mid-table, who knows? Maybe I’m wrong.”

However, Palace need to start getting results soon, or there will surely be growing concern and perhaps the need for a change of manager to turn things around before it’s too late.
