Major League Baseball’s postseason excitement is officially over as the Los Angeles Dodgers capture the World Series title over the New York Yankees.
When the offseason begins, a whole new kind of excitement will begin as free agency gets into full swing.
The New York Mets fell short of a World Series appearance after losing to the Dodgers in the National League Championship.
As the Mets look to overcome the slump in 2025, MLB analyst Mike Ferrin points out one free agent who could be a great fit in New York.
“If you were to sign Willie Adames to play second base, that would really improve their half of the diamond,” Ferrin said.

Adames played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024, where he put up some exceptional numbers at the plate.
In 161 games played, Adams hit .251 with 32 home runs, 112 runs batted in and a .794 on-base percentage.
Ferrin suggests signing Adames and moving him to second base to play alongside Francisco Lindor to improve the middle of the infield.
Adames has career highs in 2024 in hits, runs, doubles, home runs, hits and stolen bases.
He entered the league in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays before heading to the Brewers in 2021.
Ferrin apparently believes the Mets will look to sign some big name players this offseason, and he thinks Adames could be one of those guys.
Although the Mets haven’t won a World Series since 1986, they appear willing to spend the money to win a title in 2025.
