With the Major League Baseball season officially over after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series, all eyes will now turn to the offseason.
Some big names will hit free agency this offseason, and Corbin Burns headlines the starting free agent pieces that could change teams before 2025.
Burns entered the league in 2018 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he played for six seasons and just finished his first season with the Baltimore Orioles.
Major League Baseball analyst Jim Duquette believes Burns will be a perfect fit for one particular team next season.
“Burns would be a great fit with the Chicago Cubs,” Duquette said.
“This team needs a shock.”

Burns had a solid year for the Orioles in 2024 as he started 32 games and had a 15-9 record with a 2.92 earned run average and 181 strikeouts in 194.1 innings.
Duquette believes Burns would be a great fit to join the Cubs, who already have Shota Imanaga, Justin Steele and Javier Assad in their starting rotation.
Burns has been the ace of every team he’s played for so far in his career, and Duquette believes the Cubs need a legitimate ace pitcher.
The Cubs haven’t won the National League Central since 2020, and they were eliminated from the playoffs after beating the Miami Marlins in the wild-card round.
Burns will be a name to watch this offseason, and the Cubs could potentially make a run at signing the ace starting pitcher.
