WBC super featherweight champion Robson Conceicao weighed in at 129.7 pounds, and challenger O’Shaquie Foster came in at 129.9 pounds at Friday’s official weigh-in for their rematch this Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

Encourage using intimidation tactics

During the face-off, Foster wore a fake smile to give the impression of confidence and intimidate Conceicao to get the upper hand. It probably won’t work. Conceicao is from Brazil, and of course he has faced many fighters in the past who have tried that primitive approach.

Saturday’s Conceicao vs. Foster II meeting will be shown live on ESPN+ at 5:50 PM ET/2:50 PM PT.

Foster, 31, is still pretty bitter about his loss to 2016 Olympic gold medalist Conceicao (19-2-1, 9 KOs) on July 6 in Newark, New Jersey. Former WBC super featherweight champion Foster (22-3, 12 KOs) believes he should have won as he made Conceicao miss with his punches but there was not enough offense from him.

Foster did a good job of staying away, but he didn’t understand that in modern boxing you have to pack to win.

Foster says he will fight more aggressively in the rematch, come out and dominate. He has never fought like this in his 12-year career, and it is late in the game for him to make a dramatic change of styles. It’s easy for anyone to talk about getting rid of bad habits and turning over a new leaf, but it’s almost impossible for them to actually do it. That’s why there are so many losers. They cannot change. Foster will have to show that he is not just a talker.

“I hope he knows the name of the game is to hit-and-not-hit. That’s the name of the game,” O’Shaquie Foster said Top Rank Boxingwhich justifies why he ran around the ring last July in his loss to Robson Conciao in Newark, New Jersey.

“I just have to go out and be me. I say this every time because I have different styles. I’m going to bring a different style to this fight, and we’re going to turn it up,” says Foster.
