MotoGP: Valencia race cancelled, replacement to be announced – Roadracing World Magazine

Editors’ note: As of late, the official death toll from flooding in southeastern Spain has risen to more than 205, with hundreds, if not dozens, missing.

MotoGP™ stands with the community of Valencia following the devastating floods that affected the area. Our hearts go out to the lost and the many lost.

We have been in constant contact with local authorities and the district to better assess how we can help and how to proceed. Every region we compete in has a responsibility beyond the sport and the event.

After careful consideration of the positive impact of the delayed days of the MotoGP™ race in Valencia and ensuring that no resources are diverted from recovery efforts by MotoGP attendance, the championship and local authorities have been forced to cancel the 2024 Valencia GP.

In lieu of the Valencia race, MotoGP™ will race for Valencia instead. The Championship will align our positive impact with the environment in a way that best serves the people and communities we have long been a part of, along with supporting existing grant funds.

Our efforts will begin during the Malaysian GP and continue through the final round in 2024, with a new venue and date to be announced as soon as confirmed.

Fans around the world, our athletes and the paddock deserve a sports summary that can make a key contribution to supporting the 2024 season and the communities in which we compete.

Any further information regarding the end of the season will be confirmed as soon as possible.
