Virat Kohli cheekily tried to run down New Zealander Ish Sodhi during the third Test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai. The incident happened after the 60th over of the first innings played by New Zealand’s Washington Sundar.
On the last ball of the over, Mitchell took a single that brought Sodhi to the striker’s end. At the end of the run, Sodhi left the crease after completing the run. As he left his crease, Kohli took the bails and cheekily appealed to the square leg umpire.
However, the judge refused and dismissed his appeal. Kohli knew the batter wasn’t over and then shared a laugh as Sodhi watched. It was a light moment between Kohli and the umpire on a hot and humid day in Mumbai.
